Recently, the Wednesday evening book club launched it's first session with a discussion of To Eat: A Country Life by Joe Eck and Wayne Winterrowd. The touching celebration of a couple's enduring devotion to a life of farming and gardening. To Eat offers tips on the cultivation of a wide variety of vegetables as well as giving us an intimate look at joys and challenges of rural life.
Resident chef Glenys Morgan prepared a delicious multi-course menu inspired by Melissa Clark's Franny's: Simple Seasonal Italian. Starting with an addictive appetizer of Herb Zeppoli, highlights included a main course of Pork Loin "Arresto" with Roasted Brussel Sprouts topped off by a Carrot Olive Oil Whiskey Cake.
