Canning Class and Books

This week's Georgia Straight features an article on the revival of the tradition of canning. At Books to Cooks we carry a broad range of preserving books including the titles that are mentioned. Books range from canning and drying to pickling and smoking.

And for those who would like to watch and learn how to can, we are offering a canning class on Saturday, August 15 at 11:00 a.m. with Chef Glenys Morgan. Chef Glenys will discuss and demonstrate all the key concepts, techniques and recipes to get you started. Each guest will go home with a copy of Well Preserved by Mary Anne Dragan and all the information and confidence to preserve the bounty at home. The cost of this class is $65.00.
