Wendi Copeland creates stunning sculpted pears inspired by nature and a creative use of colour. She works with a barbed needle as her paintbrush and colourful wool as her palette. Each pear takes seven hours to complete.

This afternoon, Wendi will be in our shop with a selection of her pears for sale. These sculptures would make a wonderful Christmas gift, and a pair of pears would be a very special gift indeed for an anniversary or engagement. Pop by our shop this afternoon to purchase one (or more!) for your loved ones.

One of our favourite ideas for entertaining is presenting our guests with the perfect Cheese Board, paired with the appropriate wines.    Lucky for us, we are located within spitting distance to les amis du Fromage, and we often ask them to prepare a board for us.  But learning how to do this ourselves would be very helpful.  Today is our chance to observe and listen to Master Fromager, Allison Spurrell as she demonstrates her formula.

Marcella Hazan is famous for her simple, authentic Italian recipes. She knew that the key to a delicious dish was the quality of ingredients and that a good cook must first know how to shop. Her new book, published posthumously, is called Ingredienti: Marcella's Guide to the Market. It features the best of Marcella's wisdom and tips about the key elements of Italian cooking.

Today, Chef Jamie Maxwell of Nook Restaurant joins us to cook us a light lunch comprised of one of the Autumn seasonal ingredients.  Italy is all about using what is fresh, local and versatile.  Jamie will prepare three recipes using three different Squash.

If you've been to our shop, one of the first things you might notice is the lovely photo of Julia Child celebrating her 90th birthday. Whenever we communicated with Julia by post, we always received a written response. We wish we could write to her today, and wish her a Happy 104th Birthday.

Instead, our Adrienne O'Callaghan will present us with a delightful menu taken from an assortment of Julia's books and we will celebrate in Julia's favourite way: eating and drinking.

Cost: $125, includes dinner and a $30 voucher, good for any purchase you may desire in shop. Seating is limited to 14 guests.
