Charmian Christie is The Messy Baker, a food writer, recipe developer and now, cookbook author. We are thrilled to welcome the Ontario-based author to the shop for an event to celebrate her newly published book.
The Messy Baker aims to put the fun back into baking by showing it doesn't always have to be about perfection. The fun starts in the book's organization- dippable, crumbly, flaky, smudgey and drippy are just a few examples of the chapter titles- and continues throughout the book with Charmian's helpful instructions and tips.
Sheryl MacKay will conduct a live to tape radio interview with Charmian for CBC's North by Northwest Cooking Club and we will listen in with a cup of tea and a treat prepared from the book. Charmian will demonstrate a recipe from the book for the taping and afterwards there will be time for questions and a book signing.
