This year we are choosing to live in celebration of all the good things. One of the good things we can all appreciate is Feasting Days, those days of the year where we eat special things and spend time with those we care about the most.
Today is St. David's Day in Wales, when the Welsh celebrate their patron saint by wearing either a daffodil or leek. We have our own Welshman here in the shop, and while we have yet to see him sport a daffodil or leek, we have tasted many a delicious Welsh cake made by his hands. Today Mark will be demonstrating the art of making Welsh cakes in our shop kitchen between 2 and 4 p.m. Stop by during these hours to watch the demonstration and taste a delightful cake in honour of St. David; there may even be a cuppa to go with.
P.S. All of the books in the photo have recipes or information about the history of Welsh cakes.
