When I take books home from the store to review........I usually take them back to the store when I’m finished. Not this one! It will stay with me and be subject to the splatters and smudges of a well used cookbook.
Patricia Wells is probably one of the most well-known and consistent writers on French food. She has lived in France for 20 years and divides her time equally between her homes in Paris and Provence.
THE PARIS COOKBOOK is very personal. It is replete with 150 well described recipes, menus, wine and restaurant recommendations, trucs (chef’s tips), and gorgeous black and white photos of Paris and it’s citizens, chosen from 20 years of living in Paris and relishing food prepared by home cooks,, elegant restaurants, family bistros, and market purveyors. C’est formidable!
THE PARIS COOKBOOK encompasses everything from Joel Robuchon’s (referred to as JR) creamy white bean soup to a cheeky observation on "The French Butcher".
Here’s a taste from the menu section
